Cuiabano is a doubt for Vasco’s trip to Coritiba on Wednesday at Couto Pereira, the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, after feeling gluteal discomfort during the international break. The left-back has been one of the side’s standouts under Renato Gaúcho.

According to Globo.com, there is no diagnosed injury and he even started Saturday’s training match against Olaria.

He reported the issue on Saturday and underwent treatment on Monday. He will be assessed again on Tuesday, the final session before the squad travel to Curitiba.

If he does not get the all-clear, the plan would be to rest him with an eye on Botafogo on Saturday at São Januário.

As he reported later than most of the group for the season, he aimed to complete a mini pre-season during the free week, adding extra physical work to Gaúcho’s daily sessions.

Vasco have managed his workload to bring him up to the intensity of team-mates who have trained since early January. Cuiabano spent the start of the year with Nottingham Forest’s under-21s, arrived in the first week of February and needed time to adjust physically.
