FC Bayern secured a late away win in Freiburg – and created an unusual picture afterwards. Serge Gnabry attracted attention after the final whistle with a curious action, while his team-mates reacted in a good mood.
The 3:2 win at SC Freiburg had a lot to offer the record champions anyway. The Munich side turned the game around in the closing stages and secured the three points with a double strike from Tom Bischof and a last-second goal from Lennart Karl.
After the final whistle, Serge Gnabry in particular attracted a lot of attention. The attacking player celebrated in front of the crowd in a pair of eye-catching shorts, on which Leon Goretzka’s face could be seen several times. The 30-year-old presented the unusual item of clothing with a grin.
Next to him were Aleksandar Pavlovic, Jonathan Tah, Konrad Laimer and Joshua Kimmich, among others, who watched the scene with a smile. The relaxed atmosphere showed how relieved they were after the late victory. Later, the Bayern players even rolled out a huge towel, which also featured a large image of Leon Goretzka. Goretzka himself stood next to it and could visibly laugh at the action of his team-mates.

It is unclear whether the trousers have a deeper background. Gnabry and Goretzka are considered close friends within the team, but a possible connection cannot be clearly deduced from this. One thing is certain: Goretzka will leave FC Bayern at the end of the season, his contract expires in the summer and will not be extended. Gnabry has not yet classified the action. Vincent Kompany, who was asked about the action at the press conference after the game, was clueless.
The record champions had struggled on the pitch for a long time beforehand. Freiburg took the lead after the break and extended their advantage to 2-0 at one stage. Bayern only managed to turn the game around completely in the final minutes. Munich will now continue their Champions League campaign at Real Madrid, with a thrilling first leg of the quarter-finals of the top flight awaiting them on Tuesday evening.
