Leeds United will look to maintain their impressive form when they face West Bromwich Albion in the Championship on Saturday at Elland Road.
The Whites have an impressive record at home this season, winning 14 games and losing just once.
Ahead of the match, Daniel Farke has shared an injury update on Leeds skipper Ethan Ampadu who has picked up a knee injury.
Ampadu missed a lot of action this season already and the Wales midfielder is likely to be sidelined for another four or five weeks.
The Whites boss has confirmed that Ampadu has picked up a cartilage injury in the knee, and the situation is a bit complicated.
Leeds are not opting for surgery because that would rule him out for the rest of the season. Rather they are going with a move conventional route. In any case, he will definitely miss training in the next four or five weeks.
Farke said, as quoted by Leeds Live: “Sadly a knee injury, it is cartilage. A bit of a complicated situation. Surgery would have meant him out for the season because if you do a surgery he’d be out for a few month.
“After consultations, we are going to the more conservative route. It means he is out for a few weeks. It means before the international break, he won’t be available.
“At the moment 50/50 he is back for the run-in. It’s rehab work, the next two weeks he won’t be able to do some running stuff. Next 4-6 weeks he won’t be in team training.”
Unfortunately for Leeds, Max Wober is also currently out injured, and he will return after the international break.
Leeds are short of options at the back, but Farke insists Josuha Guilavogui, Sam Byram and Ilia Gruev can play in centre-back if required.
Patrick Bamford is also currently out injured and no timeline has been given as to when he can return.
