Daniel Farke has been shortlisted for April’s Premier League Manager of the Month after a surge that nudged Leeds United towards safety. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the nod reflects a month of landmark results.

Leeds recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time this season, beating Manchester United and Wolves, before a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. The 2-1 success at Old Trafford was their first league victory there since 1981.

Seven points from nine lifted Leeds to the 40-point mark, leaving them seemingly one win from securing another top-flight campaign.

He is on a seven-man list with Nuno Espirito Santo, Vitor Pereira, Pep Guardiola, Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola and Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler. City and Liverpool both took maximum points in April.

Public voting is open until 12pm on Monday, four May, and will be combined with an expert panel to decide the winner.

Leeds could add a double, with Noah Okafor nominated for Player of the Month. The Swiss forward hit both at Old Trafford, then a goal and an assist in the 3-0 over Wolves.

Farke said Leeds have shown desire and must stay respectful and focused, noting 12 points remain and one more win would ease pressure.

Burnley visit Elland Road on Friday under interim Mike Jackson after Scott Parker’s exit on Thursday. Relegated following a 1-0 home loss to Manchester City, they have won four league games. Victory would take Leeds to 43 points, a total that has never led to relegation in a 20-team Premier League.
