Daniel Sales to miss remainder of Flamengo’s Portugal camp after left thigh injury

Daniel Sales will miss the remainder of Flamengo’s Portugal camp after sustaining a left adductor injury in his thigh. The club said in a statement that an MRI on Saturday confirmed the problem.

The issue arose in the second half of the friendly against River Plate on Friday. He replaced Luiz Araújo after the interval and stayed on until full time despite discomfort.

He has begun treatment with the medical department and will remain with the travelling party in Portugal.

Flamengo have two more games in Portugal, facing Lausanne-Sport of Switzerland on Wednesday at 18:30 Brasília time. The final outing is against Benfica on Saturday 11 in the Algarve Tournament.

Both fixtures will be shown live on Premiere, sportv and ge tv.
