Danjuma could return for La Cerámica derby against former club | OneFootball

If nothing changes in the next 24 hours, Danjuma will board the bus tomorrow for La Cerámica to face his former club in the derby.

According to AS, the winger missed last Sunday’s match with Levante due to a psoas problem, has trained normally with his team-mates and, if Carlos Coberán wants him, could return to the squad.

Danjuma joined Villarreal in summer 2021 for 24 million euros, then the club’s record fee ahead of Paco Alcacer, signing a five-year contract after a decisive spell at Bournemouth, though that faith gradually faded.

His first season was strong, 34 appearances and 16 goals. Issues around his temperament and relationships, including with Raúl Albiol, preceded a loss of minutes and a run of loans to Tottenham, Everton and Girona, before he arrived at Valencia last summer.

His form dipped after an impressive start for Coberán, when he scored, created and stretched defences, then he lost his place and was reduced to late cameos. In recent weeks he has become important again, and he could head back to La Cerámica eager to prove his worth to Valencia and in the Primera División.
