Spaniard tops Premier League clean sheet rankings

Jamie Carragher selected Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of Arsenal’s David Raya when asked which goalkeeper he would rather have in the Premier League title race.

The Spaniard made a costly error that allowed Wolves to equalise late on at Molineux last week to dent the Gunners’ title hopes, but he impressed in the north London derby victory over the weekend.

However, Carragher still sided with Donnarumma when asked who he would prefer for the run-in.

"A goalkeeper, in terms of winning the title, is almost the most important thing,” the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports.

"I don't think you can win the title without a top goalkeeper, but you can win the title without a top-quality player in every other position.

"In this title run-in, I would take Donnarumma.

"Just because of him being there in the pressure moments. The level he's played at before. Raya hasn't got those honours just yet.

"I love Raya, I think he's absolutely fantastic. But for the average football fan, when you think of a goalkeeper making saves to win the league, everyone will just look at that.”

The Gunners are five points clear of City with 10 games to go, although Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand on Mikel Arteta’s men.

Arsenal’s last clean sheet came in their 3-0 home win over Sunderland at the start of February.
