Troy Deeney was thoroughly impressed with Benjamin Sesko’s cameo after the forward scored the most important goal of his Manchester United career thus far.
Indeed, the Slovenian secured a crucial win to keep United’s momentum alive on Sunday when he netted the winning goal in a 3-2 win over Fulham.

It came after United had already established a two-goal lead, which they held until the 85th minute, when Raul Jimenez converted a spot-kick to halve the visitors’ deficit.
Six minutes later, Fulham starlet Kevin struck a sensational strike from the edge of the area – one that Senne Lammens had absolutely no chance of stopping – to level the scoreline in injury time.
Then, with the Cottagers still reeling from their late comeback, Sesko received the ball from Bruno Fernandes in the box and restored the Reds’ lead in emphatic fashion.
It marked the 22-year-old’s sixth goal in all competitions since signing from RB Leipzig in a £73.7 million deal last summer, while it was also his fourth goal since Ruben Amorim was relieved of his duties on January 6.
In the final four Premier League matches of Amorim’s tenure, Sesko had started each of them, yet had failed to find the back of the net.
He then retained his spot for the double-header of fixtures Darren Fletcher oversaw, during which he bagged a brace against Burnley and a consolation goal in United’s FA Cup defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Sesko is still awaiting his maiden starting XI inclusion under Michael Carrick, though his clinical finish last time out will have certainly given the boss some food for thought before the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

Reacting to the striker’s contribution on Match of the Day, Deeney said: “Really good play. He’s on the move. It’s not a great run. This touch is really important because there’s nowhere else he can put it after that. Kills the ball in front of him and just sees his body can’t turn fully, so it’s a wonderful hit.
“And then just to think of where he’s been, two (goals) in 17 (games) under Amorim, and now four in four since Amorim’s left, and he hasn’t started the last two games. So it’s really great for him, and really great for Man United.”
