Kulusevski has not played for Spurs or his country since May last year due to a serious kneecap injury.

Initially described as “just a knock” by then-manager Ange Postecoglou, with “the medical team not too concerned”, Kulusevski has not set foot on a pitch in the 10 months since.

Kulusevski underwent patella surgery last summer and continues to be sidelined almost a year on.

Speaking in February, former Spurs manager Thomas Frank described the injury as "complicated", but hoped Kulusevski would be able to join his team-mates in first-team training in March.

But that time period has now passed with no sign of Kulusevski on a football pitch.

Sweden head coach Graham Potter has previously expressed a hope that Kulusevski would be able to help his country this month in their World Cup play-off against Ukraine, only to admit last week that: “Dejan is making progress but not as quickly as we would have liked.”

However, Kulusevski is set to visit the national team camp ahead of the showdown in Valencia.

"Dejan is in Spain so I think he will come here and meet us. It will be nice to see him. At the stage he is in his rehab, it is okay for him," Potter told Aftonbladet.

"For others it is more difficult because they are at a stage in their rehab where it means it is more difficult to be on the pitch. But Dejan will come by and it will be fantastic."
