Julian Nagelsmann, Deniz Undav and Alexander Nübel condemned the treatment of Leroy Sané in Stuttgart after sections of the crowd turned on the winger.

Sané, who has struggled for club and country and turned in a poor display against Switzerland on Friday, came on in the 78th minute at the MHP-Arena to whistles, then set up Undav’s winner in a 2-1 victory over Ghana. “I ask that the next time Leroy or another player comes on, people don’t boo,” Undav said, speaking to ARD.

“You should stand behind the team. It’s important that we, as a team, form a united front with the fans.”

“I directly addressed the fans before and found myself caught in a shitstorm because of it,” Nagelsmann said. “Generally, I don’t like it when our players get booed before they’ve even had their first chance.”

“That's total bullshit,” Nübel said when asked about Sané. “We want to head to America together as one nation. We can’t be divided.”
