Descotte strikes as Volendam's bench delivers after the hour | OneFootball

Volendam beat Heracles 2-0 on Sunday to keep the hosts rooted to the foot of the Eredivisie.

In the 55th minute, Anthony Descotte squeezed a left-footed finish from a tight angle into the bottom right. Substitute Robert Muhren then slotted a second from Bradley Kuwas's through ball (62.).

Kayne van Oevelen preserved the advantage with sharp saves from Sem Scheperman and Ajdin Hrustic after the restart. Remko Pasveer also made key stops at the other end, thwarting Descotte and Aaron Meijers as Volendam continued to threaten.

Fresh legs told for the visitors, with Kuwas and Muhren combining within moments of coming on to punish Heracles.

There was a brief stoppage late on for treatment to Gibson Osahumen Yah and Scheperman before play resumed.

Heracles had 55.8% possession with 14 attempts and four on target, plus five corners. Volendam registered 18 attempts with seven on target and won nine corners.

The result leaves Heracles bottom. Next, Heracles visit PEC Zwolle. Volendam host Heerenveen.
