Real Madrid parted ways with Chema Andres this past summer, allowing him to join VfB Stuttgart in Germany, despite holding him in very high regard.

The Spanish midfield talent was regarded as one of the most promising youngsters to have come through La Fabrica and was a player that new manager Xabi Alonso also admired.

However, the competition for places in the first-team midfield department meant that both the player and the club saw it as the best option for him to leave and continue his development elsewhere.

But, as they have been doing in recent years, Real Madrid ensured that they retain control over Chema’s future, by inserting buyback clauses to bring him back if his career took off in Germany.

Details of Real Madrid’s buyback options

Now, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has come forward with the details of Real Madrid’s buyback clauses for Chema.

As per the report, the Merengues can re-sign the 20-year-old midfielder from VfB Stuttgart for a reasonable fee of only €13.5 million in the summer of 2026.

Furthermore, the current La Liga leaders will have to pay an increased sum of €18 million if they wish to buy him back in the summer of 2027.

The deal is structured similar to what Real Madrid have done with Nico Paz at Como, who could very well end up returning to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

As for Chema, Real Madrid are watching his development at Stuttgart very closely and are happy with how things are progressing – with the youngster becoming a regular fixture in the starting XI, racking up a goal and an assist from 10 games.

The report further states that Stuttgart are very happy with Chema and consider him a top signing.

As such, should Real Madrid re-sign him and try to sell him, the Bundesliga club have secured a matching right to get him back.
