‘Difficult Technique That’ – Boss Hails Star On Loan From Tottenham, Also Lauds QPR Loanee | OneFootball

Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has hailed QPR loanee Charlie Kelman and Tottenham Hotspur loan star Jamie Donley for their performances against Wrexham.

Kelman is currently on his second loan spell at the O’s from QPR and has been an important player for Wellens’ men, scoring 14 times in all competitions.

Spurs talent Donley is seen as a big player for the future and has become a crucial part of Wellens’ side, playing as an attacking midfielder for the League One club.

Kelman and Donley scored on Tuesday night against Wrexham in a 2-1 win and the O’s boss hailed them for their contributions.

Wellens insisted that Donley is a technically gifted footballer and is hoping his purple patch will continue in the future.

“I thought Kelman was outstanding all night; [he] ran channels, got hold of it, was a threat and it was a great finish”, Wellens told the O’s media about the QPR loan star.

“And the second one [Donley’s goal] was a sensational strike as well; difficult technique that.

“A lot of players try and slash it and it goes over the bar or shank it into the ground.

“Technically, he is a superb footballer and that is a couple of real special strikes in the last few weeks.

“So, long may that continue”, he said about the Tottenham teenager.

The O’s are currently making a dash to finish in the top six to achieve promotion and the loan stars from QPR and Spurs will look to have telling impact for the remainder of the campaign.
