We’re not sure there’s much point in Rangers match ratings these days, but nevertheless Ibrox Noise offers you our scores for Russell Martin’s long-awaited first league win as Rangers manager. What a ridiculous sentence.
James Tavernier:
Outstanding performance, scored a superb volley and drove the team forward with real leadership. He never stopped pushing the tempo and carried Rangers through difficult spells with his influence on both ends.8
Nicolas Raskin:
Controlled midfield brilliantly with excellent distribution and constant movement, dictating the flow of play. He pressed aggressively, broke up counters, and showed the vision and sharpness that fans have been desperate to see again.8
Jack Butland:
Solid in goal throughout, making crucial saves and keeping Rangers composed at the back. His shot-stopping reassured the defence, and he commanded his box well, ensuring Livingston never built momentum despite their direct approach.7
John Souttar:
Some positional lapses at set pieces and struggled under pressure in key moments. While he contributed with aerial clearances, his decision making looked shaky and left the defence exposed more than once.7
Derek Cornelius:
Handled aerial duels decently and made some strong defensive interventions. However, he looked anxious when pressed and lost composure under Livingston’s long-ball game, leaving gaps that could have been costly.7
Jayden Meghoma:
Energetic performance down the flank with several duels won and constant overlapping runs. He carried the ball with intent, offered width, and gave Rangers a more attacking outlet on the left than seen in weeks.7
Connor Barron:
Combative in midfield with determined tackles and a willingness to press high. Yet he struggled to control transitions, and at times his passing choices slowed Rangers when quicker play was needed.7
Thelo Aasgaard:
Lacked spark and struggled to find influence in his advanced role, often drifting out of the game. His touch deserted him in dangerous areas, and he failed to link with the forwards as expected.6
Oliver Antman:
Created chances with sharp movement and played a key role in one of the goals. His pace and directness unsettled Livingston’s defence, proving once more he can be Rangers’ most dangerous outlet.7
Djeidi Gassama:
Showed plenty of threat with dribbles and raw pace, constantly trying to stretch the defence. However, his final ball and decision-making let him down, leaving dangerous openings wasted on several occasions.7
Bojan Miovski:
Disappointing display, missing presentable chances and struggling for service throughout. He looked isolated, failed to impose himself physically, and his touch in front of goal completely deserted him.6
Max Aarons:
Made a huge impact from the bench, scoring a dramatic late winner to seal the game. His energy lifted the whole side, and he brought urgency, aggression, and real attacking thrust down the right.8
Joe Rothwell:
Had little influence after coming on, failing to speed up play or inject creativity. His passing was safe, but he never looked like changing the tempo when Rangers needed drive.6
Youssef Chermiti:
Offered minimal threat after his introduction and struggled to impose himself physically. His movement was ineffective, and he failed to link with teammates in any meaningful way.6
Manager:
Will we ever give this clown more than 0? The most disliked ‘manager’ Rangers have ever had, has no interest in the fans or the club, it’s all about him, and in this case, lucked out with a bright finish from an unlikely source in Max Aarons who snatched a winner. Few to no Rangers fans will ever have a positive word to say about Martin, and that doesn’t change now.
And that’s your Rangers match ratings.
