Doekhi arrives for Lazio medical ahead of 2029 deal

Danilho Doekhi has arrived in Rome for a Lazio medical ahead of signing as a free agent on a deal to June 2029.

According to Football Italia, the defender was filmed landing in the Eternal City this afternoon, then taken to a meeting to finalise the details of the agreement.

He is undergoing tests and can now put pen to paper.

Doekhi turned 28 a couple of weeks ago, and his Union Berlin contract expired on 30 June. His previous clubs include Ajax and Vitesse, and he moved to Germany on a free in summer 2022.

There is a Serie A family link, as he is the nephew of former Milan defender Winston Bogarde. Lazio are reshaping their back line after selling Mario Gila to Milan and agreeing Alessio Romagnoli’s move to Al-Sadd, though that transfer has yet to be finalised.
