Some of the most reputable sources in the Italian media have confirmed that Lazio and West Ham United have reached a full agreement for the transfer of Taty Castellanos.

The 27-year-old was the Biancocelesti’s top goalscorer last season with 14 goals across all competitions, but between injuries and underwhelming displays, he found little joy in the first half of the season under Maurizio Sarri, who admitted that the Argentine might not be the most suitable striker to lead the attack.

West Ham Seize the Opportunity to Sign Taty Castellanos

In recent weeks, the Lazio management identified Castellanos as one of the profiles who could be sacrificed on the market to raise funds for their January transfer campaign and help balance the accounts. Therefore, West Ham decided to pounce on the opportunity, having parted ways with their bomber, Niclas Fullkrug, who joined AC Milan recently.

Lazio & West Ham Reach an Accord

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio have agreed to sell Castellanos to the Hammers for a guaranteed fixed fee of €30 million, in addition to bonuses. The East Londoners had initially offered €20 million on Thursday morning, before raising their offer in the evening. The player’s former club, New York City FC, will receive a sell-on fee worth 10%.

This news has also been confirmed by several other sources, including Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who reveals that the two clubs are already exchanging documents and that the striker is expected to land in England in the coming days to undergo his medical.

Lazio to Record Important Profit

Di Marzio and other sources, like Il Messaggero and Il Corriere dello Sport, reported the same transfer fee, but they believe that the sell-on fee in favor of the MLS club is worth 15%. In any case, Lazio are expected to pocket more than €25 million, which should allow them to register a significant capital gain, having signed the player for €15 million in the summer of 2023.
