Done Deal: Modric agreement for new Milan contract to June 2027 | OneFootball

As expected, multiple sources now report that Luka Modric will sign his new one-year contract at Milan, a few weeks from his 41st birthday.

The Croatia international had said he was unsure about the next step in his career going into the 2026 World Cup, as he could potentially hang up his boots.

However, he has decided to not only continue, but to do so at a high level at San Siro.

It had already been reported that a new one-year deal would be signed this week, most likely on Wednesday, and that still seems to be on track.

Modric eager to continue with Milan

MilanNews and Fabrizio Romano both claim this evening that a full agreement has been reached and just needs to have pen put to paper.

Modric is expected to earn €3.5m per season plus bonuses until June 2027.

He had joined Milan last summer as a free agent after a lengthy experience with Real Madrid, and before that had played for the likes of Dinamo Zagreb and Tottenham Hotspur.

Modric made 37 appearances for the Rossoneri in his first season, contributing two goals and three assists.

It would’ve been more, but he was ruled out for a few games by a fractured cheekbone, returning ahead of schedule.
