The FIFPRO World 11 shortlists have been revealed, with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Erling Haaland up for selection in the Men’s category.
Former Blue Kevin De Bruyne, a City player during the time of the selection process - 15 July 2024 to 3 August 2025 - has also made the cut.
The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 are all-star teams made up of the world's leading footballers – voted by the players, for the players.
Footballers pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.
The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11 while the 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.
Donnarumma had an exceptional campaign with former club, PSG, helping them to their 13th Ligue One title before starring as Les Rouge-et-Bleu won the UEFA Champions League for the first time.
Donnarumma produced exceptional performances in the knockout phase against Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal while in the final against Inter Milan, he kept a clean sheet as PSG won 5–0 to also secure PSG’s first continental treble.
Prior to joining City this summer, he also helped Luis Enrique’s side reach the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Haaland, meanwhile, bagged 22 goals in the Premier League as we finished third in 2024/25, guaranteeing UCL football for a 15th successive season.
He also scored a penalty in the shootout as we saw off Manchester United in the 2024 Community Shield to start the season.
Despite a difficult campaign for the Blues following Treble and Four-in-a-Row seasons, Haaland still managed 34 goals in 48 games all told.
Earlier today, it was confirmed that Alex Greenwood made the shortlist for the FIFPRO Women’s World 11.
The winners will be announced on Monday 3 November.
