Manchester United’s pursuit of Gianluigi Donnarumma is under threat from interest from two Champions League clubs.
Despite reports that Ruben Amorim is happy with Andre Onana as his first choice keeper, there have been regular links to a new signing in the keeping department this summer.
United are said be following players like John Victor and Senne Lammens with great interest.
Nonetheless, there have been growing reports that Champions League winner Donnarumma will be available to sign.
Paris Saint-Germain are expected to agree a deal for Lucas Chevalier and want him to be the new number one, throwing the Italian keeper’s future into limbo.
As a result of such a star player becoming available, United are evidently said to be keen on him.
It was reported yesterday that the interest is mutual as the keeper would also be keen to make a switch to Old Trafford should the opportunity arise.
There are suggestions that he would also be available for the attractive price of just over of £30 million.
Naturally, when such a high quality player becomes available, numerous clubs will take an interest and that is what Calciomercato warn.
The Italian site reports that “negotiations for a new contract, which began 13 months ago, are at a standstill and Manchester City and Real Madrid remain on high alert” over the situation.
Donnarumma is said to be giving his “priority to PSG” but negotiations have not been fruitful as both parties have failed to agree on certain contract renewal guidelines connected to appearances and results.
Manchester City are said to have shown an interest in the 1.96m keeper over a year ago and Real Madrid are also keen due to Thibaut Courtois turning 33 years old.
