Celtic lost 2-1 at Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening, piling even more pressure on manager Wilfried Nancy.
The Hoops should have opened the scoring inside the third minute. Daizen Maeda put the ball across the face of the goal to Yang Hyun-Jun, who failed to hit the target.
Johnny Kenny then had a chance saved by Dave Richard in the United goal, after doing well to evade his marker.
Celtic were rewarded for their bright start in the 13th minute. Maeda left Bert Esselink helpless before picking out the far corner.
Kenny squandered a chance to give Celtic a two-goal cushion after the half-hour mark, failing to convert Maeda’s brilliant cross into the area.
Celtic took their foot off the pedal before the break, inviting pressure from United through poor decision-making.
United started the second half on the front foot, but Craig Sibbald and Zac Sapsford spurned chances to level the scores.
Kasper Schmeichel was called into action early on, making a big save to keep out Sapsford’s effort.
United’s aggressiveness paid off in the 58th minute. Vicko Sevelj picked out Krisztian Keresztes, who finished superbly.
Sapsford quickly completed the turnaround for the hosts with a brilliant strike into the far corner after Celtic failed to clear their lines.
United were caught off guard as substitute Shin Yamada had a chance to level the scores, only to drag his effort wide.
Maeda squandered another big chance for Celtic, but his header hit the post.
Celtic have now lost four consecutive games for the first time since January 1978. This was United’s first win over the Hoops since 2014.
