Man United career

After spending nine successful seasons at Aston Villa, Yorke moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 1998.

He took to life in Manchester like a duck to water as he scored 29 goals in his first season as United won an historic treble.

Yorke would spend just four seasons at United, scoring 65 goals in 152 appearances for the Red Devils.

Before retiring, he had spells at Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Sydney FC and finally Sunderland.

Managerial career

In July 2022, Yorke was appointed manager of Macarthur Bulls but was sacked in January 2023.

He had to wait a while longer for his next bite at the cherry in management, but in November 2024 he was named manager of his national side, Trinidad and Tobago.

Yorke left the role earlier this year after his side failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

New opportunity

Sky Sports report that Yorke is in the frame for his next managerial opportunity.

The news station asserts that, “Dwight Yorke has had talks with Kaizer Chiefs about their vacant manager’s job.”

They stress that, “the club’s ex-assistant Fernando Da Cruz is the favourite to take over the South African side but his appointment has yet to be confirmed and former Premier League striker Yorke is another name Chiefs have spoken to during their managerial search.”

Yorke has been praised for his work with Trinidad and Tobago in terms of raising fitness standards and helping reconnect the team with their supporters.

Therefore, Sky Sports have revealed that the Jamaican national team are also likely to make an approach for his services.
