Edmond Tapsoba is understood to be targeting a Premier League move this summer after six and a half years with Bayer Leverkusen. According to Sky Germany, the Burkina Faso centre-back wants the next step in his career.
The report said several clubs showed interest last summer, but a transfer did not materialise because of Leverkusen’s high valuation.
He has a €100 million release clause, and while a slightly lower fee may secure an agreement, Leverkusen would still demand a substantial sum to sanction a sale at season’s end.
"My friends used to call me Mertesacker. When I started playing at the academy, I started to like John Stones," Tapsoba said in 2023, speaking to Bulinews.com.
"That makes me happy, of course. It’s something that shows I’m doing a good job and that I just need to continue. But Leverkusen is a big club, my head and heart are fully here right now, and then we'll see what the next step will be."
Tapsoba remains under contract with Leverkusen until the summer of 2028.
