Real Madrid had to settle for a frustrating 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the La Liga. While they must be a bit annoyed considering how the game unfolded, they don’t have enough time to reflect on those moments as they need to prepare for the next battle.
The Whites will be traveling to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knock-out stage. It will be a game to watch out for many fans considering their rivalry and recent head-to-head outcomes.
Defence
Thibaut Courtois had no chance of stopping the penalty kick and he should be ready to don the gloves this week. No change at the right-back position as Lucas Vazquez continues to play there for his team.
Amid multiple injuries, Raul Asencio and Aurelien Tchouameni did well to keep things tight at the backline against Atletico. They are likely to be used in a similar fashion against City. While left-back Fran Garcia did well, he might be sacrified to make way for Ferland Mendy.

Midfield
As Eduardo Camavinga is now available for selection, he is likely to form the midfield pair with Federico Valverde replacing Dani Ceballos.
Jude Bellingham continues to play as the attacking midfielder in the lineup with some specific tasks on the field.
Attack
Rodrygo was instrumental in creating Real’s only goal against Atletico. He should be operating on the right flank with Vinicus providing his sevices from the other end of the pitch.
In-form Kylian Mbappe will be seen leading the offensive pack once again without a doubt.
