Following Burnley’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Easter Monday, Leeds United and Burnley have clinched automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The remaining promotion spot will be decided in the play-offs, with the Blades, Sunderland, and two other teams all in contention.

Coventry can guarantee themselves a play-off spot with a win, as long as Middlesbrough and Millwall don’t both win. If both lose, and Blackburn fail to win, a point will also secure Coventry’s place in the top six.

Bristol City will confirm their play-off place with a win on Monday. A point is enough if Middlesbrough, Millwall, and Blackburn all don’t win on Saturday. They’ll also make the top six if Middlesbrough and Millwall lose, and Blackburn fail to win.

At the bottom, the relegation battle is wild, but we could get clarity by Saturday!

If Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle both lose (Cardiff at home to West Brom and Plymouth away to Preston) and Luton avoid defeat at home to Frank Lampard’s side, while Derby don’t lose at MKM Stadium, then Cardiff and Plymouth will be relegated to League One.

LEAGUE ONE

Birmingham City wrapped up promotion with a win over Peterborough, and clinched the League One title after Wrexham drew at Wigan.

Now, the battle for the second automatic promotion spot is on. Wrexham are two points ahead of Wycombe, and will secure promotion on Saturday if they beat Charlton and Wycombe drop points against Leyton Orient.

Stockport and Charlton still have an outside shot too. With Charlton facing Wrexham, a win for the Addicks could really spice things up going into the final weekend.

Things are just as tense at the bottom, where any side from 19th down could still be dragged into the drop. Cambridge will be relegated if they don’t win, and they’ll be gone regardless if Bristol Rovers win their match. As for Crawley, they’ll be down if either Burton or Bristol Rovers finish with a better result.

LEAGUE TWO

In League Two, the promotion race is absolutely frantic. The top four teams are separated by just four points, with three places up for grabs. Even sixth place isn’t out of the running.

Doncaster will be promoted if they beat Bradford, or if they simply match whatever result Walsall get. If they win and Port Vale lose, Doncaster will be champions as well.

Port Vale can clinch promotion if they beat AFC Wimbledon and either Walsall or Bradford drop points - or if they end up with a better result than Walsall. Bradford will go up if they win and Walsall lose.

AFC Wimbledon are guaranteed a play-off spot if they win. A point would do if Grimsby lose or if Salford and Colchester ends in a draw. Notts County will also make the play-offs if they win and either Grimsby or Colchester fail to.

At the bottom of the table, Carlisle United are clinging on. They’re in the final relegation spot right now, but they could catch Tranmere or Accrington — although if they don’t better Tranmere’s result, they’ll be relegated.
