Kicker and multiple other sources report that Arnaud Kalimuendo’s loan out to Eintracht Frankfurt is all sewn up. The Nottingham Forest professional is due in Frankfurt for a Monday medical. All of the final details have been clarified. Kicker claim that Kalimuendo will immediately join SGE training and might even be available for Friday evening’s Bundesliga fixture against Borussia Dortmund.
Kicker and Sky Germany report that Eintracht will pay Forest a €1.5m loan fee. A purchase option of €27m has also been negotiated as part of the six-month loan arrangement. Forest paid Stade Rennes €30m to acquire Kalimuendo from Stade Rennes this past August. Limited appearances for the Premier League outfit has seen Kalimuendo’s estimated market value decline from €30m to €25m over the last two months.
Here sources differ. Kicker insists that Eintracht have no more interest in acquiring the Dane on loan. The Hessians have already signed 2. Bundesliga Younes Ebnoutalib are content on signing two new strikers and awaiting Jonathan Burkardt’s return from injury. Kalimuendo’s fellow Frenchman Elye Wahi also technically remains on the SGE squad as he was only loaned out to OGC Nice.
Wahi actually scored eight minutes and 33 seconds into his Ligue 1 return. Nice do not possess a purchase option for Wahi and Eintracht will be keen to welcome their extremely expensive January 2025 addition back assuming he can once again find his form in his native country. A complex loan deal like the one reported to be negotiated for Osula seems to be a totally superfluous transaction.
Florian Plettenberg nevertheless reports that – since Osula and Eintracht already agreed to personal terms – negotiations are still ongoing. Osula wants to join Eintracht. It’s entirely possible that new terms less burdensome to the Bundesliga club can be worked out.
Eintracht may still wish to sign a third striker as Burkardt looks to be out until the end of February. Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi also recently suffered a fractured foot and might not make it back until the end of March.
