Manchester City’s ongoing chase of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush is not causing any complications around the player’s availability for his club.

The Premier League champions are continuing to work on a deal for the 25-year-old forward, who has rapidly emerged as their number one attacking target for the ongoing January transfer window.

There had been a feeling early on in the market that Marmoush could become Manchester City’s first arrival of the window, however the signing of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis from Lens and Palmeiras respectively have overtaken the Egyptian in that chase.

While Frankfurt are no doubt requesting a top level fee for a player that has been instrumental to their success so far this season, many would believe that it is money well spent for a player with 15 goals and 10 assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances this campaign.

Reports over a week ago had revealed that Marmoush and Manchester City had reached a verbal agreement over personal terms, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s dressing room aware of the player’s intention to leave for the Etihad Stadium.

However, there have been another two outings for Marmoush since then against St. Pauli and SC Freiburg in Bundesliga action, with two goals and two assists provided by the versatile forward.

And speaking ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt’s next Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund on Friday night, manager Dino Toppmöller has insisted that he plans on playing the 25-year-old as normal despite Manchester City’s ongoing chase of the player.

“Omar (Marmoush) will play tomorrow (against Borussia Dortmund), under normal circumstances,” Toppmöller told reporters during a media conference on Thursday afternoon. He continued, “He’s in my plans.”

For Manchester City, their focus will no doubt remain on the field as those in higher positions continue to maintain dialogue with their counterparts over at the Bundesliga club, with fixtures coming thick and fast for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The reigning Premier League champions travel to Portman Road on Sunday afternoon to take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town, hoping to make amends for throwing away a two-goal lead in the final 13 minutes against Brentford to draw 2-2 in midweek.

Pep Guardiola is likely to remain tight-lipped on any unannounced transfer information when he faces the media during his pre-match press conference scheduled for Friday afternoon ahead of the trip to Ipswich.
