The forward arrives with immediate effect from Galatasaray SK after penning a deal valid until 30 June 2027.
Eintracht Frankfurt have bolstered their attacking options with the deadline-day signing of Michy Batshuayi from Turkish giants Galatasaray SK.
Batshuayi was born in the Belgian capital of Brussels and has scored 27 goals in 56 caps for the Red Devils. The striker made his breakthrough as a professional at Royal Standard Club de Liège, scoring 18 times in the 2013/14 Jupiler Pro League campaign to finish as top scorer in the regular season.
The 1.85-metre forward subsequently left the Belgian top flight for French side Olympique de Marseille, where his 33 goals and ten assists caught the eye of Chelsea FC, whom he joined in 2016.
The now 31-year-old was under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2022 but had spells on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia CF, Crystal Palace and Besiktas. While at Chelsea, Batshuayi won the Premier League in 2017 and the FA Cup a year later.
His time in the Bundesliga lives long in the memory for many German football fans, following a nine-goal spell in 14 games for Dortmund in the second half of 2017/18.
Batshuayi has been in Istanbul for the last three and a half years, lacing his boots for Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in the city and scoring 43 goals in 97 Turkish top-flight appearances in total.
He has also scored 24 times in 78 outings in European competition at club level.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “Michy Batshuayi doesn’t only have a great goalscoring record, he has plenty of experience because he’s played in almost all of Europe’s top leagues, including the Bundesliga. Michy has the necessary robustness and is battle-hardened. We’re confident he will quickly take on an important role in our young team.”
