Elliot Anderson is widely seen as one of the summer’s most in-demand Premier League players, with Manchester City and Manchester United leading the pursuit. Manchester Evening News reports both clubs view him as pivotal to midfield rebuilds, with City eyeing him as a possible Bernardo Silva successor and Forest’s survival strengthening their hand.

The 23-year-old has flourished since a £35 million switch from Newcastle United two years ago. His equaliser in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle effectively secured Forest’s Premier League status.

He signed a five-year deal to 2029 and there is not believed to be a release clause or a Newcastle sell-on. Talk places potential bids at about £100m to £120m, up from £75m in February, and it could climb further if he shines on the biggest stage in North America.

Anderson says he is focused on performing and giving everything for Forest. He feels the last two years have gone well, credits the club for his development, and says leaving his hometown in 2024 was a big step that has worked.

Vitor Pereira noted recent displays have come during a difficult period after the death of Anderson’s mother Helen in April, with her funeral last week, and praised the midfielder’s character and commitment.

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has called the sale painful and said the club had no choice, adding that Anderson is an outstanding player destined for a fantastic career. Forest visit Manchester United on Sunday at 12.30pm, then host Bournemouth on Sunday, 24 May at 4pm.
