Paulo Fonseca says Endrick is not yet ready to complete 90 minutes and will miss Lyon’s trip to Monaco on Saturday in Ligue 1’s matchday 17.

According to L'Équipe, the 19-year-old, loaned by Real Madrid this winter, took part in his second full session on Friday morning, training in a snood and gloves but no hat despite the cold.

Fonseca said the Brazilian only began working with the group this week and is adapting well. He described Endrick as a different profile the team needs and noted the squad have welcomed him.

The coach added that the forward is in decent physical condition after working in Madrid, but not ready to play a full match. He said Endrick has trained well and is motivated.

Midfielder Orel Mangala said the youngster’s cheerful nature and English have helped him settle quickly, and that he can help Lyon achieve their objectives.

Endrick should make his debut on 11 January against Lille in the Coupe de France round of 32.
