Sevilla have seen two attacking targets slip away, with Enes Ünal set for Getafe and Bryan Zaragoza no longer viable as Rubén Vargas remains.
AS reports that Getafe and Ünal have reached full agreement on a permanent return from AFC Bournemouth. Sevilla had been advanced with Bournemouth during talks over Juanlu Sánchez’s transfer, but Getafe’s move and the player’s wish to return, after 16 goals in 2021-2022 and 15 in 2022-2023, tipped the balance.
The Andalusians must keep searching for a centre forward, still the main priority for the sporting department this window.
Mundo Deportivo states that Bryan Zaragoza is not in Bayern Múnich’s plans, is under contract until 2029, and continues to train alone at Säbener Strasse while RCD Espanyol and Deportivo Alavés track him.
Sevilla are out of the race because Vargas is set to stay. After selling Akor Adams, Juanlu Sánchez and Djibril Sow, there is no urgent need to cash in, which makes a move for the Málaga-born winger unworkable.
Ünal forged a reliable LaLiga scoring record at Getafe before trying the Premier League, his hold-up play and penalty-box instinct standing out. Zaragoza broke through at Granada CF with pace and one-v-one threat, but scarce minutes in the Bundesliga have led to loans at CA Osasuna, RC Celta and AS Roma.
