England and Scotland discover opponents after World Cup draw | OneFootball

England have been drawn against Croatia, Panama, and Ghana while Scotland face two of the teams they were drawn with for the 1998 World Cup.

The draw, which could have been done instantly with a computer, lasted around two hours and included live performances, selfies and an incredible new low for Gianni Infantino's FIFA reign that somehow lowered respect for the governing body even further. 

A sycophantic display saw US President Donald Trump awarded the FIFA Peace Prize – something Trump essentially made up for himself after being 'snubbed' by the Nobel Committee. This was one the more indigestible bits of propaganda offered up by Infantino and co.

After eventually moving on to the draw, England were put in Group L alongside familiar foe Croatia, Panama (a repeat of 2018 when the Three Lions won 6-1), and Ghana.

Meanwhile Scotland have been drawn in Group C alongside Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil and Morocco – with three teams reunited after being drawn together at the 1998 World Cup. Debutants Haiti complete the group and will be Scotland's first opponents.

Should either Wales or Northern Ireland earn a spot from UEFA Play-Off A then they will be placed in Group B alongside an inviting group of Canada, Qatar, and Switzerland. If the Republic of Ireland also get through then they would have a spot in Group A along with Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea.

The 2026 World Cup will begin on June 11th with Group A when Mexico take on South Africa in Mexico City – a repeat of the opening game of the 2010 tournament.
