English winger Jonathan Rowe paid tribute to Diego Armando Maradona after scoring the winning goal for Bologna in an away game at Napoli on Monday, taking a picture with the legend’s statue.
Bologna defeated Napoli 3-2 on Monday, with Rowe scoring the winning goal in stoppage time with a fantastic volley.
The English winger, 23, is in his first season at Bologna and has scored eight goals in 42 appearances across all competitions this term.
The ex-Marseille and Norwich starlet celebrated his latest goal with an Instagram picture near the Diego Armando Maradona statue, located in the tunnel of the Napoli stadium, named after their legend.

Rowe initially struggled to get playing time under Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano, but has become a regular starter at the Stadio Dall’Ara in the second half of the campaign.
“It wasn’t immediate to understand your football, and the coach took a bit longer to integrate me into the team in the best possible way,” Rowe said in an interview in April.
“I’m not sure why, maybe he saw something I hadn’t seen. But I kept working hard to earn my place. As wingers, we’re often substituted, so we have to be decisive as quickly as possible. The coach and I are starting to understand each other much better; time helps build chemistry and a good relationship.”
