And the slowdown hasn’t stopped. Liverpool have taken the decision to cut ties with SEVEN more players from the youth ranks and the fringes of the first team.
The following players are out of contract after their terms expired on June 30.
Jakub Ojrzynski is a 22-year-old goalkeeper. He joined Liverpool from Legia Warsaw back in 2019 - going on to sit on the bench for the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
The 6’5 Poland underage international has spent time away from the club on loan in Wales, Poland, the Netherlands, Cyprus and Sweden.
Dominic Corness, 22, appeared in first-team friendlies under Klopp and has been at the club since the age of five. He enjoyed loan spells at Yverdon Sport in Switzerland and Gillingham.
A highly-regarded midfielder, Corness is an England under-20 international and he has already secured future employment with The New Saints in Wales.
Also leaving are two more goalkeepers in Reece Trueman, 20, and Jacob Poytress, 18.
Liverpool have also let the contract of Lee Jonas expire. The 20-year-old centre-back has played Premier League 2 level for the Reds and is an England under-19 international.
Also going is fellow defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus - who has turned out for the club’s under-18s. Harry Evers, 18, meanwhile was a left-back for the U18s.
