Thomas Tuchel’s side advanced to the last eight after a thrilling win over co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. England became only the third team in history to beat Mexico in a competitive fixture at the iconic venue, securing a 3-2 despite being reduced to 10 men.
Jude Bellingham scored twice for England, with Harry Kane also on target from the spot. England battled to a hard-fought win despite Jarell Quansah’s red card for a high challenge.
England now face Norway, who beat Brazil in a last-16 upset. Norway are into the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time after a 2-1 win over the record five-time winners on Sunday. Erling Haaland scored both goals and now leads the Golden Boot race with seven, alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Harry Kane is one goal behind that trio.
Thomas Tuchel’s side face Norway on Saturday July 11th in Miami. The fixture takes place at Hard Rock Stadium and will kick-off at 10pm BST.
England v Norway will be live in the UK on BBC Sport and Online.
