England’s biggest football grounds have been ranked by capacity, with Yorkshire represented and Elland Road placed 14th. The North West, North East and London account for 12 of the 20 entries.
According to Betsson, this is the top 20 by capacity. The ranking covers stadiums used by men’s or women’s clubs, so Wembley is excluded.
Across the country, 29 stadiums hold 30,000 or more. Yorkshire’s trio in the 20 are Hillsborough, Elland Road and Bramall Lane, and some would also class Middlesbrough’s Riverside as Yorkshire.
Top 20 by capacity: one Manchester United's Old Trafford 74,879, two West Ham's London Stadium 62,500, three Tottenham's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 62,303, four Arsenal's Emirates Stadium 60,704, five Man City's Etihad Stadium 55,097, six Liverpool's Anfield 54,074, seven Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium 52,769, eight Newcastle's St James' Park 52,354, nine Sunderland's Stadium of Light 48,707, 10 Aston Villa's Villa Park 42,785.
