Pep Guardiola head coach of Manchester City expressed strong relief after his side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United in Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Guardiola explained that the three point were essential to remain in the title race.

He said City controlled the game through possession, made thousands of passes and handled Leeds’ attacking transitions well.

According to the City boss, his team created more dangerous chances in the final 20 minute which helped secure what he described as “huge win.”

Guardiola also praised forward Antoine Semenyo comparing his influence to that of defender Marc Guehi. He said Semenyo has given the team many positive elements since joining.

When asked about the injury of Erling Haaland, Guardiola kept his answer brief. He said he hopes the striker returns soon but confirmed there is no clear date for his comeback.
