Manchester City will sit down with the representatives of Erling Haaland early next month to discuss the Norwegian striker’s Etihad Stadium future.

The 24-year-old has been nothing short of a revelation since making the switch to the Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window of 2022, claiming almost everything available to win on offer to the reigning Premier League champions.

Erling Haaland recorded a devastating and record-breaking debut season with Manchester City in 2022/23, claiming a history Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League treble accompanied by 52 goals and nine assists in his 53 cross-competition appearances.

The most-recent season was slightly more complex for Haaland, having succumbed to a two-month injury through a bone fracture in his foot, but still scoring 38 goals and providing six assists in just 45 appearances.

As such, it comes as no surprise to understand that Manchester City are now targeting an improved contract for Erling Haaland to reward him for his efforts across the last two campaigns, with a meeting now scheduled with his representative.

That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, who reveals that Erling Haaland’s leading representative Rafaela Pimenta is scheduled to make the journey to Manchester upon the Club’s return from the United States early next month.

It is explained that discussions will take place over extending the Norwegian’s current agreement beyond the summer of 2027, whilst the Haaland camp will also seek any update on Pep Guardiola’s future, despite it not being a ‘deal maker or breaker’ for them.

Manchester City could yet feature in the summer transfer market for a new striker this summer, with Julian Alvarez understood to be fielding interest from across Europe with an eye on more consistent game time and opportunities in the leading striker role.

That openness to offers from across the continent has ultimately led to Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea emerging as tenuous suitors earlier in the summer, with Atletico Madrid understood to be the most serious.

It remains to be seen whether the Madrid side can finance a proposal close to City’s valuation, which remains somewhat unknown, however Etihad Stadium officials are expected to allow Alvarez to leave should that be his request and should they receive a suitable offer.
