Mohamed Salah’s future is something that has been discussed at great length by Liverpool supporters since the 33-year-old confirmed his departure.
After almost a decade, the Egyptian King is leaving Anfield and it isn’t yet clear where he will play his football next season.
The legendary forward will likely make his final appearance for the Reds in Sunday’s clash against Brentford, but a decision over his next club hasn’t yet been made.
Reports linking Salah with a move to the Saudi Pro League have been non-stop for a number of years but a move to another European side also remains firmly on the cards.
Several top sides are reportedly interested in signing Salah on a free transfer, which won’t come as a surprise.
There has also been plenty of speculation that a move back to Italy, where he played before joining Liverpool, could be high on the Egyptian’s list of priorities.
Now, one of the biggest clubs in Europe has emerged as a contender for Salah’s signature.
That’s according to a report from Football Insider, which claims that seven-time European Cup winners AC Milan are chasing a deal for Salah.
The forward’s former club, AS Roma, are also interested, setting up a tough choice for the 33-year-old this summer.
Although his return this year has been disappointing compared to the incredibly high standard he has set over the past decade, Salah is still very much a top player and he showed as much last season.
As well as helping Liverpool to their 20th league title, Salah scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists in the 2024/25 season – one of the most impressive individual campaigns in English football history.
Salah is still highly capable of shining, especially in Serie A, and a move to AC Milan could help the Egyptian rediscover last season’s form.
If the European giants are in the race for Salah, they could well be the best destination for him.
