Senne Lammens 8.5 – After a nervy moment early on when he cleared the ball straight to Thierno Barry, he recovered well and delivered a superb performance. He made two brilliant saves in the first half, including confidently keeping out a James Garner free-kick. He followed it up with another fine stop in the second half to deny Harrison Armstrong. Outstanding towards the end and produced two more world-class saves. United certainly don’t win the game without the Belgian’s contributions. Deserved the clean sheet. Flawless!

Diogo Dalot 8 – On the balance of play, he stood out as one of United’s top performers. Provided a constant outlet for the team and showed attacking intent throughout the match, delivering crosses and breaking into dangerous areas.

Leny Yoro 6 – OK. Did his job.

Harry Maguire 6 – Same as Yoro.

Luke Shaw 5 – Defensively, he kept Iliman Ndiaye quiet, but he provided no real outlet in attack and failed to contribute anything meaningful on the left.

Casemiro 2 – Shocking performance, particularly in possession. He repeatedly gave the ball away with needless Hollywood passes and was physically dominated by Everton’s midfield. After being in such good form, this performance was a major step backwards.

Kobbie Mainoo 8 – Offered most of the little calm and composure that United showed in the game. Another brilliant display in an extremely hostile environment.

Bruno Fernandes 5 – Tough day at the office. Unusually minimal influence.

Amad 5 – Another player who was disappointing in possession. Drifted further and further out of the game as it went on.

Matheus Cunha 6 – He was having a poor game but played a big role in the opener, delivering a sublime diagonal ball into the path of Bryan Mbeumo, who assisted the goal.

Bryan Mbeumo 6 – He was having a difficult game but then produced a moment of magic with a brilliant assist that rescued his performance.

Substititutes

Benjamin Sesko 9 – Came off the bench to score yet again for United, this time rescuing them from the jaws of defeat by bagging the winner. He took his goal very well and has surely done enough to earn a start in the next game.

Noussair Mazraoui 6 – Helped the Red Devils get over the line.

Ayden Heaven 5 – On for the dying embers of the match.
