Everton have agreed a new long-term deal with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, which is set to be signed this week.
Transfer journalists Fabrizio Romano and Paul Joyce of The Times confirmed the development that the club has reached a consensus with Pickford’s camp.
“Jordan Pickford set to sign his new, long-term Everton contract this week,” Joyce posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Jordan Pickford has agreed to sign new long term deal at Everton, everything done and approved by player’s camp,” Romano added.
The 31-year-old, signed from Sunderland in 2017, has been one of the most influential players in the club’s modern history. He made his 300th Premier League appearance for the Toffees in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace just a week ago.
He has kept 85 clean sheets in the league and was named Everton Player of the Season four times –in 2017-18, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Since signing for the Blues, he has also been the undisputed number 1 in goal for England. Pickford also surpassed Gordon Banks to become the first goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets for the national team during the current international break.
James Tarkowski also signed a new deal with the club recently and once Pickford’s new contract is made official, the club is expected to address the future of James Garner who’s in the final year of his current contract.

Delighted to see Pickford signing a new contract, and definitely deserved, hopefully Garner will be next.

Didn't know Pickford could play air guitar.
Should keep it at home though, not during working hours.

Great to get him signed up along with Garner 💙

Good news.
His current contract runs out in 2027 and he will have only just turned 36 at the end of 2030 if we offer a 3-year extension so it looks like good business to me.

During a decade when we've been mostly flat on our back fighting relegation, he's always treated this club with the maximum of respect. It's amazing really. Truly a candidate for the Hall of Fame.

I agree, Kevin. He is an Evertonian who could have moved on with the thanks of most of us. He is a normal guy in an insane profession. Better than being a great shot stopper, a man who kept us in the Premier League and possibly the best in the world; he has the qualities that are nearly invisible in the modern game.Loyalty and integrity.

To be fair he's only had to make about 6 saves in 6 games. The opposition has been awful.
Keepers' stats are always skewed by how good the team in front of them is anyway. It's a bit pointless and misleading in many ways.

That is a good point, James.
I just checked and he had 2 saves to make in 6 games. I stand corrected!
Still think he is a brilliant keeper though.

Agreed. I like him as a keeper too. He's a hell of a lot better than some people give him credit for.
Not just a great shot stopper but also really good with his feet. Arguably the best in the world with his feet.
A a modern day keeper there aren't many close to my him in my view. I'm also a big fan of Donnaruma.
interesting that he was one of the v few good signings we've made. it's recently emerged that the keeper was recommended to Kenwright in the summer before he signed, by the ex Sunderland manager David Moyes.Am sick of this guy sticking his oar in. Thanks a lot Davey, next time, mind your own business, amirite?!
