West Ham United should be on alert as another Premier League club could be vying to enter the race for Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler. It seemed the Hammers had the edge for this file, but it appears not.

Earlier this month, L’Equipe reported that West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Real Sociedad are all interested in Soler. It looked like West Ham have taken the lead in the race, ahead of Brighton and Real Sociedad.

Moreover, Le Parisien reported this week that West Ham and PSG are nearing an agreement for Soler’s permanent transfer. The deal, including bonuses, is expected to be worth €23 million.

Although West Ham appeared to have the inside track to securing Soler, another English club reportedly wants to make a last-minute move for the 27-year-old.

Journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin reported on Thursday that besides West Ham, Everton are also very interested in Soler. PSG are looking to spark a bidding war between the two English clubs.

The Parisians are open to selling for at least €24 million and prefer a straight transfer rather than a loan deal. In the 2023-24 season, Soler made 26 appearances in all competitions for the French club, scoring once and contributing four assists.
