Everton have been watching Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with West Ham among the clubs showing interest.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have kept tabs on the Norway international, with several Premier League clubs monitoring him this season.
The forward endured more misery at the weekend, missing a penalty in the 2-0 defeat to Brentford, his effort saved by Caoimhín Kelleher. Supporters were unhappy with the manner of the spot-kick.
A day later, claims surfaced that West Ham had made contact for the Norwegian, though any pursuit is still at a very early stage.
Despite a difficult campaign, Strand Larsen scored 14 Premier League goals last season, none from penalties. He has shown he can perform in the top flight, which heightens frustration over his form.
Further identities of suitors could be revealed in the coming days, and a bidding battle would be ideal for Wolves, helping to maximise funds if a rebuild is the strategy.
