Everton remain interested in bringing Jack Grealish to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees have already signed Tyrique George, but are plotting a move to re-sign the Manchester City man following a successful loan last season.

Grealish thrived at Everton, but a long-term injury kept him out for the second half of the season.

Toffees boss David Moyes pushed to sign the 30-year-old last summer and will likely be behind another move.

With Grealish, George and Iliman Ndiaye in the ranks, Moyes will have enough options for the left-wing position, strengthening the flanks as they push for European football.

The Englishman is a ‘creative and energetic‘ option for the left wing.

His ability to create chances for himself and his teammates is remarkable. His experience will also prove invaluable.

It is unclear whether the Cityzens will be open to letting him rejoin Everton on a temporary basis again.

Everton should look elsewhere

Everton should resist the temptation to sign Grealish.

While his quality is unquestionable, the club cannot ignore the uncertainty surrounding his fitness after such a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Returning from a long-term injury is never straightforward, particularly for a player whose game relies on acceleration, balance and confidence one-on-one.

There is no guarantee he will immediately recapture the form that made him such an important figure before his setback.

Everton need players capable of making an immediate impact if they are serious about challenging for Europe.

George is an exciting talent, but he is still young and largely untested at Premier League level.

Relying on Grealish and an inexperienced youngster would be a gamble.

The Toffees should be targeting a proven, fully fit winger who can deliver consistently from the opening weekend.
