Former Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin revealed he wanted to loan in Real Madrid's Arda Güler during his time at BVB.
The 37-year-old confirmed this on the YouTube channel KAFA Sports: "I really wanted to bring Arda to Dortmund. Back then, he told me: 'Coach, I'm going to grab that jersey, no matter what.'"

Ultimately, instead of joining the Westphalians, Güler remained at Real Madrid and indeed established himself with the Galacticos.
While Sahin was dismissed after six months in Dortmund, Güler has become not only a regular starter but also a key player in Madrid.
The 21-year-old Turkish sensation moved from Fenerbahçe to the club from the Spanish capital in the summer of 2023 for €28million.
Even back then, Dortmund had expressed interest in his abilities but were powerless against competition from Real Madrid.
