Enzo Maresca has been confirmed as Manchester City's new manager, succeeding Pep Guardiola.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, City had hoped to announce sooner but first negotiated compensation with Chelsea, and it is claimed an eight-figure sum was agreed between the clubs.
Maresca previously led City's Under-21s in 2020/21, then returned as Guardiola's assistant for their treble-winning campaign.
He joined Leicester in summer 2023 and delivered the Championship title before leaving for Chelsea.
At Stamford Bridge he won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup, departing in the new year.
In his first remarks he said he knows the club well and that its structures make it an ideal environment for a coach. He added that this is his third spell, he understands the demands and expectations, has thanked staff for their faith, and wants to win, play attractive football and relish the pressure.
He remains popular at the King Power and was invited back last season. Alongside coaches Danny Walker and Willy Caballero, he watched Leicester lose 2-0 to Norwich in February.
