Former Roma executive Mauro Baldissoni is officially back in the football world.

The 55-year-old, who departed the Giallorossi in 2020 after a decade at the club, is part of a group led by American investment firm Beckett Layne Ventures that has reached an agreement to acquire Serie B side Monza from the Berlusconi family.

Fininvest, the family’s holding company, announced the deal in a statement Tuesday.

“The transaction provides for an initial transfer of 80% of the shares Fininvest S.p.A. and Beckett Layne Ventures (BLV) announce that they have signed an agreement today for the sale of 100% of AC Monza’s share capital to BLV,” read the statement.

“The transaction provides for an initial transfer of 80% of the shares by this summer, with the remaining 20% to be transferred by June 2026. Until then, Fininvest will retain representation on the club’s Board of Directors, reflecting its residual ownership stake.”

Adding, “The BLV team, together with its partners and advisors – including Mr. Mauro Baldissoni (a senior executive at AS Roma for several years) – brings solid experience in professional sports, with a particular focus on European football.”

The new ownership’s top priority will be securing promotion back to Serie A, after the club finished last in the table this past season and was relegated to Serie B.
