Lazio are reportedly following Velez Sarsfield winger Thiago Fernandez who has been earning plaudits for his performances in the Argentine league this season.

The Biancocelesti are still determined to build on their summer revamp by adding more young and exciting profiles to their ranks. Over the past few days, the Biancocelesti have been linked with the likes of Reda Belahyane, Gustavo Sa and Senny Mayulu.

According to Mercato Foot (via LazioNews24), the Italian capital side is monitoring Fernandez with great interest. The 20-year-old is a youth product of Velez Sarsfield who rose through the club’s ranks to become a protagonist at the first team. This season, he has scored four goals and provided six assists in his 17 appearances in the Liga Profesional.

The youngster is a right-footed player who mostly features as an inverted winger, cutting from the left flank. However, the Argentina U23 starlet could be set to leave the nest sooner rather than later, as his contract with Velez is only valid until December 2025. His value on the market is circa €5 million.

The source adds that Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani is a keen admirer of the winger and he could soon schedule a meeting to discuss the player’s future.
