It would be fair to suggest that Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday are in two polar opposite predicaments when it comes to off-field issues at the moment.

Wednesday have been in turmoil this summer, with unpaid wages for staff and players, stands temporarily having to be closed and being placed under transfer embargoes, whilst Wrexham, on the other hand, have just completed a £7.5 million deal for Manchester City youngster Callum Doyle in what has been yet another exciting and ambitious window for the Welsh side.

Wrexham, like Wednesday, have lost both of their Championship games so far this season, with one of the sides set to notch their first points of the season this weekend.

Wednesday have been dealt a huge injury blow to goalkeeper Piece Charles, who is set for a spell on the sidelines, leaving the Owls with no recognised senior keeper ahead of this fixture as things stand - although they are closing in on a loan deal for Cardiff City's Ethan Horvath, as first revealed exclusively by Football League World yesterday afternoon.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has shared his predictions on the Wrexham versus Sheffield Wednesday match.

"Sheffield Wednesday are obviously still to get a point on the board, like with Wrexham," said Hendrie.

"I think Wrexham have been really close, particularly when you look at the first game versus Southampton, and likewise for Sheffield Wednesday away at Leicester.

"We're only a couple of games in so you tend not to look at the table. I just think Wrexham will be firm favourites. I think that they will be desperate to get points on the board.

"I think that they [Wrexham] will take all three points, I'm going to go 2-0 to Wrexham, I think that they will just have too much for Sheffield Wednesday."

Although Sheffield Wednesday fought valiantly in their opening fixture away to newly-relegated Leicester, losing 2-1 courtesy of a late goal from Wout Faes, they did see both Nathaniel Chalobah and Yan Valery limp off during the fixture.

Now, with Charles out, Wednesday's already-thin squad is truly down to the bare bones, leaving manager Henrik Pedersen little wiggle room to work with when it comes to his team selection.

Wrexham, like Wednesday, fell to a late 2-1 defeat away to newly-relegated Southampton, courtesy of a stoppage-time winner from Jack Stephens, though by all accounts felt as though they deserved something from the game after leading for a large portion of the match.

They then lost out 3-2 last weekend to West Bromwich Albion, but it would be amiss to ignore the difficulty of Wrexham's proverbial baptism of fire into the Championship and they will fancy their chances when Wednesday travel to the SToK Cae Ras tomorrow afternoon.

Phil Parkinson's side have been on a rapid rise through the leagues, as just three years ago they were competing in the national league.

Now, backed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham smashed their transfer record by bringing in Welsh international Nathan Broadhead in a deal worth up to £10 million from Ipswich Town.
