One of the biggest positives of Hansi Flick’s tenure as FC Barcelona manager has been his ability to get the best out of his players.

The Catalans have had their hands tied in the transfer market, limiting their ability to strengthen the roster.

Despite that, the German has already won four trophies in a season and a half, relying on a large part of the squad he inherited and bringing in some young talents from La Masia.

Flick very pleased with his Barcelona squad

Now, according to exclusive information provided to Barça Universal by Adrian Sanchez, Flick is very happy with the Barcelona squad he currently has at his disposal.

The German manager has not demanded any signings since his arrival; he proposes ideas, gives his opinion, and reaches consensus with the club.

When Flick arrived at Barça, he is understood to have told Deco: “I will make this team champions with this same squad.”

Safe to say, he has followed through on it, having won three trophies in his debut season and added a fourth this term.

Seven untouchables

The 60-year-old manager sees seven key players as absolute untouchables in the team. They are Joan Garcia in goal, Pau Cubarsi and Alejandro Balde in defence, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri in midfield, and Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in attack.

It does not come as a surprise, considering that the aforementioned seven players are extremely important to the team’s form and fortunes.

Meanwhile, Flick also sees the contributions made by Gerard Martin and Roony Bardghji this season as pleasant surprises.

Martin has added value to the team with his versatility, contributing at left-back and centre-back.

As for Bardghji, he might not be getting minutes regularly, but he has stepped up whenever given an opportunity, proving that he is ready to step in for Lamine.
