The Sky Blues have set a £15 million price-tag for midfielder Jack Rudoni.
Coventry City midfielder Jack Rudoni has attracted transfer interest this summer following an excellent 2024/25 season in the Championship.
The 24-year-old was a standout player for the Sky Blues as they reached the play-offs in the second tier last season, scoring nine goals and assisting 12 from midfield over the course of the campaign.
His performances earned him Coventry's 2024/25 Player of the Season award, and also resulted in other clubs showing an interest in acquiring his services this summer, including newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United.
However, more recent reports have linked Rudoni with a move to Championship rivals Southampton, with Will Still looking to strengthen his Saints squad before the end of the summer transfer window as he aims to take the club back into the top flight at the first time of asking this season.
Southampton had a bid for Rudoni rejected by Coventry earlier this week, with their offer falling well short of the Sky Blues' valuation, as per The Sun.
Football League World then exclusively revealed that Coventry have set a £15 million price-tag for their star midfielder, so Southampton, or any other club that registers an interest in Rudoni before the end of the transfer window, will have to pay a significant fee if they want to sign him.
Sky Sports pundit, Lee Hendrie, spoke exclusively to Football League World about the speculation surrounding Rudoni, and stated that he believes the midfielder is well worth £15 million.
"Jack Rudoni has been absolutely outstanding," Hendrie said.
"Last season he was so, so good. I think Frank Lampard really did get the best out of him, and spoke highly of what he does.
"I watched him when he was at Huddersfield and there was always something in there that made me think he could really kick on.
"There is a £15 million price-tag, but I am sure they will want to keep him. I know that Frank thinks he is a fabulous asset for the football club, and he proved that last season.
"£15 million, yes, is probably fair. He is definitely worth anywhere in that region, for sure. It is just whether that tempts one of those Premier League clubs to have a punt, as for £15 million I would certainly be looking at taking him because, as I said, he was so, so key for Coventry and Frank really did get the best out of him.
"His goals, his timing into the box from midfield. A very good player, and well worth £15 million."
Rudoni has excelled for Coventry under Frank Lampard, and his contract at the CBS Arena is not set to expire until the summer of 2028, so the Sky Blues are not under any huge pressure to sell the 24-year-old during the current transfer window.
Having reached the play-offs last season, the club will no doubt be looking to go one better and win promotion this time around, and having Rudoni in midfield will be key if they are going to have the best chance of doing just that.
It remains to be seen whether Southampton, or a Premier League club, bid £15 million for Rudoni before the end of the transfer window, but it would certainly be a real blow for Coventry if they do.
